ACA Represents All Counselors

Yesterday we focused on the AAMFT, which offers assistance to marriage and family therapists. Today we’re going to discuss the American Counseling Association, or ACA.

The ACA is a not-for-profit professional association and has resources for all counselors, be it anxiety counselors, marriage and family therapists or counselors who deal with various addictions. One thing about the counseling profession is that it is very diverse.

The ACA has its own list of publications that can help counselors and therapists in their professional day-to-day activities. It also offers continuing education resources and information about licensure. Counseling students will also find the ACA helpful with many resources.

In addition to the above resources, the American Counseling Association can assist working counselors in the following areas and with these noted resources:

  • Professional Development
  • Ethics
  • A Counseling Directory
  • A Library
  • Podcasts
  • And Much More

The ACA is a great resource for counselors of any specialty and students who are entering the counseling profession.
